Description

The first rendezvous shows two children side by side, in the aesthetic of bygone canvases, surrounded by hearts and small red devils: the naivety of a first love, and already the doubts that accompany it.

Born in 1998 in Paray-le-Monial and settled in Lyon, Yami holds a master's degree in art direction; he initially worked on album covers and illustration. His work revolves around love and its contradictions, which he explores through "little devils" embodying fears, doubts, and emotional excesses.

Unique piece, 2025, embroidered thread by thread in the VANGART workshop in Lyon, labeled Living Heritage Enterprise. 60 × 50 cm, mounted on a custom wooden frame and delivered ready to hang. Signed by the artist, sold with a certificate of authenticity.

Presentation

An emerging artist based in Lyon and originally from Paray-le-Monial, Yami grew up surrounded by drawing and painting. After earning a Master's degree in Art Direction, he quickly turned to creating album covers and modern illustrations, always seeking to develop new visual languages. At the heart of his artistic approach is love, with all its complexity. Yami explores its contradictions through "little demons" who personify fears, doubts, and emotional excesses. His works are outlets, where he seeks to evacuate inner tensions. These demons, both tormented and tender, connect the intimate to the universal, revealing emotional nuances through vivid colors, clean lines, and dynamic compositions. Yami constantly pushes the boundaries of contemporary illustration, developing a unique style influenced by urban art and classical techniques. His works, imbued with a desire for innovation, are distinguished by their dynamism and their ability to tell stories. His art, both introspective and expressive, achieves a subtle balance between shadow and light, love and chaos.
