Description
A screen-printed version of a painting created in 2025 inspired by Irezumi, Japanese body tattooing. It is a portrait of a tattoo artist's wife.
7-color screen printing on Colorplan 270g.
Created by the artist.
A female silhouette is revealed from behind. The body becomes a narrative support. The ink draws a majestic dragon that coils along the spine. This motif is inspired by the oriental traditions of tattooing.
The line is sharp. The colors oscillate between deep blues and warm flesh tones. The background evokes a hazy sky. This composition plays on the contrast between the softness of the nude and the rigor of the tattoo.
The pop art approach brings a graphic modernity to the whole. The eye is drawn to the precision of the scales and the fluid movement of the mythical creature. The subject embodies a form of duality between fragility and strength.
This screen print made in 2025 is among the limited editions offered by the artist. The visual rendering highlights the sensuality of the human body through a precise cultural prism. The edition bears a discreet signature and manual numbering at the bottom of the paper.
Presentation
Tian is a French artist of urban influences, living and working in Le Mans.
Tian is fascinated by human nature, which is his favorite subject. The ambivalence of the being, its fears, its anxieties, its contradictions and its joys represent for the artist a great ground of inspiration, in which he pick ups all day long. He works more precicely on the duality of characters, revealing thus all the paradoxes of human emotions, as well as on the duality of physical, romantic and conflicting interactions between two subjects. Communication with the body can be sensual, romantic, sexual, or on the contrary tense, dominating, enslaving.
Tian works with stencils, on the walls of big cities or on canvases. Le Mans remains his favorite playground, even through we can see his tag on the walls of Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, New York, Sao Paulo and Warsaw.
