Description
With One Hand, Add Fuel signs a masterpiece where the heritage of Portuguese azulejos meets the energy of contemporary street art. This original four-color serigraph, issued in only 50 copies, reveals the artist's graphic virtuosity through a composition of remarkable visual intensity. Signed and hand-numbered, accompanied by its certificate of authenticity, this edition is a rare opportunity to acquire an emblematic work by an artist whose international recognition is constantly growing. A true collector's item, it will appeal to both urban art enthusiasts and collectors looking for limited editions of exception.
A work where tradition meets contemporary street art
With ONE HAND, Add Fuel confirms his status as an essential artist in the international urban scene. Inspired by the famous Portuguese azulejos, this serigraph reinterprets a centuries-old heritage through a resolutely contemporary aesthetic.
At the center of the composition, a monumental hand emerges as a universal symbol of creation, transmission, and transformation. In its palm, a stylized eye immediately draws the gaze, evoking knowledge, consciousness, and perception. The key that extends the wrist suggests access to new horizons, to the imagination, and to the power of art to open minds.
The background is made up of a sumptuous setting of patterns inspired by Portuguese faience tiles. Between arabesques, floral ornaments, and plays of symmetry, Add Fuel creates a fascinating dialogue between the traditional decorative heritage and the codes of contemporary street art.
The monochrome palette of deep blues, faithful to the artist's visual universe, lends the whole an timeless elegance and exceptional graphic power.
Some works are looked at.
Others are deciphered.
belong to this second category.
A hand emerges from the background like a vestige of the past made alive. In its palm, an eye watches over. It observes the world, questions our time, and invites everyone to look beyond appearances.
The key that replaces the wrist is not a coincidence. It symbolizes what art possesses most precious: the ability to open doors one believed were closed.
Around this hand, the azulejos seem to tell several centuries of history. Add Fuel does not copy them: he deconstructs them, reinvents them, and gives them a new life in the universal language of street art.
This work is a bridge between heritage and modernity, between craftsmanship and contemporary creation. It possesses that rare quality of great collector's pieces: it immediately attracts with its graphic beauty, then progressively reveals a symbolic richness that accompanies the gaze over time.
Presentation
An accomplished graphic designer and illustrator, Add Fuel (Diogo Machado, 1980) has a solid reputation as a graphic artist. After creating a unique visual universe, populated by sci-fi inspired and fun creatures, the Portuguese artist recently redirected his attention to reinterpreting the language of traditional tile design and Portuguese azulejo in particular. Bringing together irony and humor, his vector drawings or stencil-based street interventions reveal awe-inspiring complexity and masterful attention to detail.
