Description
Born from the series Ephemeral Architectures, exhibited at the Arles Meetings in 2024, this screenprint by the artist hester deploys an abstract geometric composition of a rare chromatic intensity. Deep blue, saffron yellow, coral, fluorescent pink, and natural wood assemble in fractured planes on an absolute black background, building a mental skyline halfway between urban architecture and pictorial abstraction.
Faithful to her photographic approach as a system of thought, hester transposes here her vocabulary of light, structure, and time into the medium of printmaking: the screenprint, through the superposition of its pure color blocks, accentuates the constructive dimension of the work, rhythmic verticals, tense diagonals, trompe-l'œil volumes that evoke vanished facades or scaffolding, architectures born and then erased.

Known for combining artistic vision with technical precision, Hester transforms urban structures into doors of reflection. With a background in electrical engineering, architecture, and art history, her photographs go beyond superficial aesthetics and invite viewers to question our perception and occupation of space.
From Concrete Perspective (2012) to Architecture Éphémérè (2024), Hester's work consistently redefines the dialogue between art, science, and emotion. Exhibited internationally, from Art Wynwood and Pinta Miami to the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, including recent exhibitions in Sweden and France, her practice presents itself as a bold exploration of perception and memory.
