Description
The gaze is immediately captured by this singular toucan. The bird becomes the support of a graphic explosion. The plumage disappears under an accumulation of graffiti and lettering.
The artist merges nature and urban culture here. The codes of street art take over the tropical fauna. Every line, every saturated color, recalls the energy of city walls.
The execution precisely mixes acrylic, pigment ink, and Posca marker. The contrast is striking between the realism of the mossy branch and the artificial aspect of the subject.
The approach is in line with a pop and subversive approach. The work plays on the superposition of layers to create a dense visual relief.
This piece belongs to a series of limited editions. It is made on canvas and dated 2026. The final rendering emphasizes the tension between the calm of the forest and the organized chaos of graffiti.
Presentation
Maxime Blachère is an atypical artist from Savoy, now living near Lyon and present in 25 countries and several art galleries in Europe and the US. Maxime Blachère's universe is filled with humor and saturated colors.
Self-taught and versatile, his sources of inspiration are multiple. Comics, pop culture, photography and of course Street-art.In phase with the Fluxus movement, he uses and mixes the codes of the environments that inspires him and of the artists he meets to give free rein to his imagination and deliver offbeat works, sometimes naive, sometimes subversive, like his series of works "Vandal is color" where Maxime takes pleasure in virtually vandalizing urban landscapes around the world.
