Presentation
Clet Abraham, an Italian artist born in 1966, is best known for his creative and humorous approach to traffic signs. After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, he moved to Florence, where he established his studio and began reinterpreting urban signage in an innovative way. By transforming ordinary street signs into works of art with bold colors and playful elements, Clet redirects the rigid, impersonal nature of road signs into something more humanistic and expressive.
In 2024 and 2025, Clet Abraham's work continues to gain international recognition. His interventions, which juxtapose humor and critique, have sparked discussions about the role of public space and the power of art in everyday life. His work remains a symbol of artistic freedom in the face of bureaucracy, with new pieces being unveiled in cities across Europe. This continued growth and exposure demonstrate the lasting impact of Clet's art in both the street art scene and the broader world of contemporary art.
Using pre-cut stickers, Clet modifies traffic signs, turning them into symbols of rebellion and freedom, often adding subtle humor to challenge the authoritarian nature of rules and regulations. His street interventions are found in major European cities, including Florence, Paris, Rome, London, Turin, Milan, and Barcelona, among others.
