Description
This work, inspired by "The Young Marble Giants," combines geometric shapes and vibrant colors on a three-dimensional canvas. The asymmetrically cut black silhouettes intertwine with colorful red, yellow, and blue circles, creating a striking contrast. The shapes appear to float in front of a background composed of discs and rectangles, emphasizing a dynamic interplay between light and shadow. The various layers add depth and invite the viewer to explore every corner. The artful use of primary colors evokes a sense of balance and harmony, while the irregular arrangement of the elements conveys a vibrant energy. This work perfectly exemplifies originality and experimentation, capturing the essence of contemporary art through a dramatic juxtaposition of patterns and colors.
Presentation
Thierry Corpet - French artist born in 1965, lives and works in Corsica
At the crossroads of visual arts and music, Thierry Corpet draws inspiration from William Burroughs' "cut-up" technique to create hybrid works, where superimpositions and geometric forms translate the emotions arising from listening. Without claiming synesthesia, he seeks to capture the ephemeral and give tangible form to what is usually perceived by the ear.
Each canvas, each sculpture becomes his visual score — an invitation to see his perception of music, to feel the forms and to listen with the eyes.
His work is regularly exhibited in France and internationally. In particular, it was presented at the "Comparaisons 2026" exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, in the Geometric Abstraction group.
