Description
This work features a clean geometric composition. Within a dark wood frame, thin, precise lines stretch across a beige varnished background, creating a rhythmic visual dynamism. A juxtaposition of geometric shapes—a bright red triangle and a black rectangle—appear to pull on these lines while extending beyond the confines of the frame. This three-dimensional construction evokes a visual rupture that challenges the viewer. The limited color palette accentuates the tension and balance between the elements. The work is distinguished by its ability to merge two- and three-dimensional aspects, offering a visual experience that oscillates between space and structure.
Presentation
Martin Singer is a contemporary French artist whose artistic journey began when he left Fine Arts in the 90s. His passion for painting has always been the driving force behind his creation.
Committed to questioning his favorite medium, he managed to work on the mode of his presentation most often implemented, which is the frame. But beyond the frame, more general questions become clearer: the off-screen, the border, the inside-outside.
Most often, the artist makes his frames himself with the precision of an artisan carpenter, a frame that he polishes, varnishes or paints according to the needs of the project. This handmade work gives each work a unique, personal and very original look.
