Description
This sculptural bust depicts a caracal in a captivating, stylized way. Created in bronze, the work immediately catches the eye with its rich texture and expressive details. The elongated, stylized ears, which seem to pierce the air, create a dynamic, airy silhouette, while the animal's precisely sculpted mouth emanates an aura of mystery. The massive base lends a stability that contrasts elegantly with the sculptural finesse of the subject. The piece is a tribute to the majesty and natural grace of the feline, while exploring surreal elements through the dynamism of its form. This sculpture stands out for its ability to capture the animal essence while inviting the viewer to contemplate a bold artistic interpretation of nature.
Presentation
Isabelle Carabantes was born in 1965 in Paris.
She learns sculpture in different workshops and studies modeling from a live model, working on volumes in space, axes and planes, at the Ateliers des Beaux Arts de Paris in Philippe Jourdain's workshop.
The artist, mainly focused on the animal world, does not choose to work as a naturalist. After having previously studied the anatomy and social life of her subjects, she deviates from it for a spontaneous realization. It is a question of capturing an emotion, of stealing a moment of life with all the strength and the wild beauty of her subjects. Her modeling vibrates with an energy both powerful and delicate, that of a wild and threatened allegorical world: ours.
