Description
This bronze-glazed ceramic sculpture with an oxidized bronze patina embodies a coral aesthetic. Its polished surface with beautiful silver highlights draws the eye, creating a subtle play of light that accentuates its graceful curves. The folds and undulations evoke the delicacy of a flower petal, adding a tactile and sensual dimension to the work. The dark, metallic appearance contrasts with the softness of the forms, giving this piece a robust and timeless elegance. Its ability to simulate both the rigidity of metal and the flexibility of nature makes it a unique work, inviting the viewer to introspective contemplation. The complexity of the execution and the fineness of the detail reveal the technical mastery and exceptional artistic vision of the artist. This object of art embodies the perfect fusion between art and nature.
Presentation
Virginie DEVIN's work intrinsically links natural materials such as bronze, cracked clay, stone, and steel, recreating life through contrasting harmonies.
The characteristic scars that streak the silhouettes of the marine works refer to the individual history of each person: to the stories engraved in the flesh, shaping the profiles with smooth lines and sheared details.
An artist and explorer of the elements, her passion and inspiration come from the ocean, both a source and a universal focal point. Recognized for the uniqueness of her work, the press has covered many of her events. She is also the founding president of the Terre de Vrai association, which educates children about the environment.
