Description
This work, a sphere-shaped sculpture, is distinguished by its bold and dynamic patterns. The golden surface evokes a timeless richness, while the humanoid silhouettes in vibrant cobalt blue immediately capture the eye. These figures seem to dance around the sphere, in a graceful and free-flowing movement, forming a harmonious circle. The touches of red add emotional depth, contrasting with the blue and gold. The artist masters the balance between simple forms and symbolic complexity. The marriage of primary colors and precious metal creates a powerful and intriguing visual effect, provoking both reflection and admiration. This work successfully combines tradition and modernity, evoking ancient frescoes while asserting itself in a contemporary context. The interplay of elements makes it a truly unique and captivating piece.
Presentation
Nina Khemchyan is an Armenian artist, born in 1964.
Nina initially studied at the Beaux-Arts in Erevan. She then came to Paris and joined Ecole Nationale des Arts Appliqués to acquire more knowledge on the subject.
Since her graduation, Nina has been trying out a vast number of artistic techniques. Through these different practices, the artist wants to find a lyrical vision of her environment and the world in which we live.
Her art often has a "Mediterranean" inspiration. Her work indeed can be associated with the cultural and natural richness of her home land, though she draws inspiration from ancient cultures like Ancient Greece.
"Before any creation, I need to touch the ground, feel the dampness under my fingers, breathe in the humus", says Nina Khemchyan.
