Description
This work is notable for its artful integration of various artistic elements within a three-dimensional framework. On the right, a stylized painting of a clown features angular features and a vibrant color palette with shades of blue and yellow, accentuating the character's melancholic expression. The greenish background adds a striking depth to the image. On the left, a small plastic clown toy stands in a niche, introducing a playful dimension and contrasting with the pictorial portrait. The handwritten phrase "Meh!?... not very like all that, is it?" seems to establish an ironic dialogue between the two incarnations of the clown, engaging the viewer in a reflection on perception and resemblance. This juxtaposition of reality and representation offers a contemplation on identity and artistic interpretation.
Presentation
Ludo Gianroma is a French artist born in 1959.
Gianroma's works are always based on a panoramic photo, or at least a section of it, before he plays around with paint, pencil or ink techniques. The canvases he creates are always torn between the figurative and the abstract.
