Description
This artwork presents a vibrant, geometric composition characterized by interlocking forms in bold colors. Squares, rectangles, and triangles overlap, creating a captivating visual dynamic. Vivid hues of blue, yellow, red, green, and black are subtly balanced, while a yellow circle draws the eye with its striking simplicity. The contrast between smooth surfaces and sharp angles lends an intriguing depth to the whole. The asymmetrical arrangement of forms invites continuous visual exploration, each element appearing to be in motion despite the apparent rigidity of the geometries. The work perfectly embodies the energy and tension of abstract modernism, while simultaneously challenging traditional conventions with its bold and irregular structure. Every detail testifies to technical mastery, making this composition remarkably harmonious and undeniably contemporary.
Presentation
Thierry Corpet - French artist born in 1965, lives and works in Corsica
At the crossroads of visual arts and music, Thierry Corpet draws inspiration from William Burroughs' "cut-up" technique to create hybrid works, where superimpositions and geometric forms translate the emotions arising from listening. Without claiming synesthesia, he seeks to capture the ephemeral and give tangible form to what is usually perceived by the ear.
Each canvas, each sculpture becomes his visual score — an invitation to see his perception of music, to feel the forms and to listen with the eyes.
His work is regularly exhibited in France and internationally. In particular, it was presented at the "Comparaisons 2026" exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, in the Geometric Abstraction group.
