Description
Sculpture inspired by the quote, “If we meet a man of strange intellect, we should ask him what books he reads."
Ralph Waldo Emerson suggests that a person's intellect can be reflected in their literary choices. When we encounter someone with unusual or profound thinking, it is natural to be curious about the sources of his knowledge and wisdom. Asking them about the books they read not only gives us insight into their interests, but can also open a window into their way of looking at the world.
The books we choose to read can influence our thinking, our beliefs and our creativity. So, by digging into the readings of a man of rare intellect, we might discover innovative ideas, unique perspectives and perhaps even inspirations that help us expand our own understanding. In essence, this phrase invites us to appreciate the power of literature and the importance of intellectual curiosity in our interactions with others.
Presentation
The central themes of his pieces revolve around reading. José Manuel, through his figures of geometric lines in unrepeatable scenarios, seeks to transmit various emotions with the reader. His creative compositions are mainly based on wood.
