Description
A striking close-up reveals a sculptural banana with a mirror-like, almost liquid red finish, its reflective surface capturing light with dramatic intensity. The deep, vibrant red oscillates between sensuality and tension, giving the object an almost organic presence.
The round, expressive eyes emerge from the smooth surface, lending an immediate narrative dimension: the emotion is palpable, a blend of surprise, concern, and irony. The slightly open mouth accentuates this feeling of frozen movement, as if the sculpture were captured in a moment of pure reaction.
A wide, matte, textured silver band runs across the composition in stark contrast to the chrome brilliance of the red. It acts as a visual fracture, an almost physical constraint, reinforcing the dialogue between brilliance and restraint, luxury and constraint.
The piece skillfully blends pop humor and contemporary aesthetics. Through this interplay of intense colors, reflections, and anthropomorphic expressions, the sculpture transforms a trivial symbol into an expressive, bold, and undeniably iconic figure.
Presentation
In each sculpture, Sagrasse places a fragment of humanity, an emotion kneaded into the material, like a breath that crosses time.
Born in 1966 in Macerata, in the Marche region of Italy, Sagrasse has dedicated his life to sculpture for over thirty years. Driven by a constant passion for material and form, he has developed an artistic language that is both contemporary and profoundly human.
His works are exhibited throughout the world, in galleries, private exhibitions, and spaces dedicated to art. This international career reflects a recognition acquired over time, driven by the sincerity and strength of his work.
Sagrasse's creations address contemporary and universal themes : ecology, social ideologies, and the relationship between man and his environment. His sculpture thus becomes a space for reflection, where consciousness and aesthetics, questioning and emotion intertwine.
