Le pélerinage, 2023

This captivating work is a wooden sculpture incorporating an intriguing assemblage of stylized human figures. Each figure appears meticulously carved, emerging from the raw wood with a unique expressiveness. The use of natural tones lends the piece a striking visual harmony, highlighting the organic texture of the material. The imposing height of the work accentuates its presence and evokes an almost totemic verticality. This singular piece succeeds in capturing a narrative depth, combining tradition and abstraction. The raw finish of the wood, left partially untouched, testifies to a dialogue between craftsmanship and nature. The assembled appearance of the figures perhaps symbolizes a unified community or diversity. This work is compelling in its originality and its ability to evoke both the erosion of time and the enduring nature of humanity.
