Civilisation perdue, 2025

This captivating work is a wall sculpture composed of multiple wooden figurines, set within a grid of rectangular compartments. Each figurine has a unique appearance, carved with a rustic simplicity that highlights the natural texture of the wood. The varied faces, some painted, lend a surprisingly lifelike expression to these miniature figures. The mosaic-like arrangement creates an impression of a compact yet diverse community. The palette of earthy tones lends warmth and authenticity to the whole, while the geometric organization conveys visual harmony. This work is distinguished by its ability to marry naive art with a modernist structure, evoking themes of diversity and unity. It draws the eye with its understated yet complex aesthetic, inviting the viewer to contemplate the multiplicity of human figures within a limited space.
