Description

Supreme Robotcat: Yellow Cybernetic Maestro embodies the luminous and futuristic dimension of Hiro Ando’s feline universe within the series Neko Sculptural Symphony: Claws of Legends.
Standing 100 cm tall, this resin sculpture asserts a monumental presence, its intense monochrome yellow amplifying its visual impact.
Hiro Ando, founder of the Japanese studio CrazyNoodles and a leading figure of the Nippon Neo-Pop movement, merges manga culture, technology, and contemporary sculpture.
Robotcat appears here as a mechanical guardian translated into a sculptural language that is both playful and powerful.
The vibrant yellow surface evokes urban energy, innovation, and the optimism characteristic of contemporary societies.
The deliberately simplified geometry conceals precise volumetric work, revealing Ando’s mastery of form.
The glossy resin captures and diffuses light, generating shifting reflections that constantly animate the sculpture.
Within Claws of Legends, each feline character embodies symbolic aspects of the modern human condition.
Robotcat particularly explores the dialogue between humanity and technological evolution.
Its closed eyes contrast with its cybernetic nature, suggesting a machine endowed with peaceful awareness.
The work navigates between collectible pop figure and monumental contemporary sculpture.
The yellow tone enhances the optimistic futuristic vision running through Ando’s work.
The piece captures the playful spirit of Japanese pop culture while maintaining strong sculptural presence.
Robotcat thus becomes a symbol of coexistence between organic emotion and artificial intelligence.
Sharp contours evoke digital modeling aesthetics translated into tangible volume.
This work represents a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic sculpture from Hiro Ando’s expanding artistic universe.
Its spectacular character and immediate recognizability make it a major piece for any contemporary Neo-Pop art collection.
Supreme Robotcat ultimately celebrates the encounter between imagination, technology, and global visual culture.
The sculpture stands as a key milestone in the evolution of the artist’s mythical feline figures.

Presentation

Hiro Ando was born in 1973 on the island of Shikoku in Japan. Hiro Ando started his career as an illustrator in 1995. In 2005 he founded with Saori Nakamishi an artist studio in Tokyo to manage the creation and promotion of other young neo-pop artists who express their own popular culture in their creations. Today the studio "Crazynoodles" has ten artists.

Hiro Ando is a versatile artist. He works in oil on canvas, digital media or video. His technique consists of making several sketches before painting on canvas. The painting shapes itself and emerges in the streets of Tokyo at night, and combines lots of colors and graphics. Hiro paints dark cityscapes and goldfish all over the canvas.

The marriage of the two subjects makes the whole of the painting dynamic and violent, with a strange feeling of eternity given by the goldfish which recall old Japanese paintings and watercolors. The sculpture is a recent addition to the media used by Ando, who started working on a series of orange, green sculptures ... inspired by Japanese popular culture. Thus the cat, which is a lucky charm in Japan, like the Maneki-Neko, takes different forms such as the samurai or the sumo wrestler.

The artist translates this theme into a modern style. The shiny and smooth materials, the vivid colors, the brutal but rounded shapes of Hiro Ando's sculptures take us to the world of manga in which the artist's generation grew up. Hiro Ando's art is the meeting between the Meiji era and Manga, he is Shogun in the world of Pokemon, he is traditional Japan seen through the eyes of young people: he certainly belongs to Japanese neo pop art.
