Description
This captivating artwork comprises a series of translucent discs in vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red. The precisely suspended circles create a harmonious and ethereal balance. Anchored to a transparent, angular base, they appear to float, playing with light to cast dynamic, colorful shadows. The vertical arrangement of the discs draws the eye upward, symbolizing ascension and lightness. The interplay of color and the material's transparency offers a captivating visual experience, shifting with the viewing angle and lighting. This piece illustrates the harmony between geometry and color, inviting the viewer to contemplate the interplay of movement and light.
Presentation
My immersion in the concepts of contemporary design and architecture during my youth in the 1960s and 1970s had a great influence on my work.
The end of my studies in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Namur (Belgium) marked a turning point. The search for light became self-evident, a necessity; capturing the essence and defining it by creating a space with clean, symbolic forms, such as the square or the circle. I also discovered the artist James Turrell, whose vibrant and spiritual art moved me deeply and encouraged me to continue my explorations.
The material allows me to express the vibration of colors and their radiance. Bringing forth a luminous presence always gives me joy.
