Description
This striking sculpture commands attention with its vertical, spiraling form, reminiscent of an organic helix. Crafted from birch, airbrushed with different tones of ink and brass powder, the artwork showcases a rich, earthy palette, with smooth transitions between burnt sienna and auburn shades. Each segment of the spiral is meticulously curled and layered, forming a continuous, rhythmic ascent. The play of light against its high gloss lacquered surface accentuates its dynamic contours, creating subtle highlights and shadows that enhance its three-dimensionality. The artwork stands as a testament to both technical precision and creative imagination, offering viewers an engaging visual experience that intrigues and captivates with its fluid yet structured elegance. Its unique, undulating design imbues it with a sense of movement and vitality, making it a compelling focal point in any setting.
Presentation
I am a contemporary artist who primarily works with wooden sculptures using a method called "power carving," which means that I use electric hand tools to sculpt the form. My art is characterized by soft organic shapes inspired by nature, where I like to explore the abstract.
The experimental is a strong driving force in my creative process. I work with a variety of techniques to enhance the expression in my works, including the use of verdigris copper, staining, and painting with acrylics. By combining these materials and methods, unique and innovative sculptures are created.
My works are distinguished by their lively surfaces and unexpected details, where the natural qualities of the wood interact with my experimental vision. Through my sculptures, I want to arouse curiosity and invite reflection on the forms of nature and the possibilities of materials.
