Description
This sandstone sculpture explores the silhouette of a fish with a figurative and minimalist approach.
The artist uses the Raku technique to work the material.
Fire and earth unite here to create marked contrasts.
The animal's body is adorned with blue and green shades, evoking the marine depth.
A textured, dark, and grainy band runs across the flank to rhythm the composition.
The face, left in a neutral and light tone, brings visual balance to the whole.
The fins and tail have a raw and chiseled appearance, almost rocky.
The lustrous aspect of the glaze contrasts with the matte and organic areas of the ceramic.
This piece, made in 2026, plays on the duality between the fluidity of water and the rigidity of stone.
Presentation
Passionate about the arts, I began by painting, then I discovered 'THE EARTH' and all the richness and beauty it has to offer.
Water, earth and fire – three elements essential to life – fascinate me.
My current work focuses on couples, family, friends and femininity, using Raku techniques and the ultimate test of fire. I try to convey a message or symbolism: surprises, joys and, sometimes, disappointments right up to the last minute. I trained at the Douai School of Art.
I run an 'Expression terre' workshop and a 'Children's' workshop in Templeuve-en-Pévéle, as sharing is very important to me.
