Description
A feminine silhouette settles softly on a spherical base. This sandstone sculpture captures the essence of reading in a minimalist style. The character, with stylized features, cradles a white dove against her heart.
The work of the material reveals a marked contrast. The dress and the base wear a deep blue, obtained through precise mastery of glazes. The skin, left in earthy and natural tones, brings an organic warmth to the whole.
The artist explores femininity and inner calm here. Every curve is thought to evoke serenity. The choice of sandstone emphasizes a close link with primordial elements.
The composition plays on the balance between the density of the base and the lightness of the posture. The absence of precise details on the face invites introspection. Attention is then turned to the protective gesture surrounding the white object. This piece combines technical rigor and figurative sensitivity.
Presentation
Passionate about the arts, I began by painting, then I discovered 'THE EARTH' and all the richness and beauty it has to offer.
Water, earth and fire – three elements essential to life – fascinate me.
My current work focuses on couples, family, friends and femininity, using Raku techniques and the ultimate test of fire. I try to convey a message or symbolism: surprises, joys and, sometimes, disappointments right up to the last minute. I trained at the Douai School of Art.
I run an 'Expression terre' workshop and a 'Children's' workshop in Templeuve-en-Pévéle, as sharing is very important to me.
