Description
This animal sculpture explores the material with simplicity and precision. The sandstone, worked with care, gives birth to a figurative form with soft contours.
The fish's body is adorned with repetitive patterns. These blue scales, arranged in successive layers, create a regular visual rhythm. The shades of blue interweave, ranging from deep tones to lighter shades.
The minimalist approach emphasizes the essence of the creature. A simple dot marks the gaze, instilling a discreet presence in the object. The play between rough textures and smooth surfaces guides the eye across the entire surface.
The balance of volumes ensures a natural stability to the piece. The base remains neutral to leave all the space for the chromatic work of the body. This piece combines the strength of fire with the delicacy of the line.
Presentation
Passionate about the arts, I began by painting, then I discovered 'THE EARTH' and all the richness and beauty it has to offer.
Water, earth and fire – three elements essential to life – fascinate me.
My current work focuses on couples, family, friends and femininity, using Raku techniques and the ultimate test of fire. I try to convey a message or symbolism: surprises, joys and, sometimes, disappointments right up to the last minute. I trained at the Douai School of Art.
I run an 'Expression terre' workshop and a 'Children's' workshop in Templeuve-en-Pévéle, as sharing is very important to me.
