Description
This terracotta sculpture explores the relationship between the body and matter. The intuitive gesture shapes an abstract bust, a kind of protective totem. The form is organized around circular voids that punctuate the mass. Five horizontal blue bands come to rhythm the light blue surface. This chromatic contrast evokes the horizon or the uniform of a sailor.
The work relies on a tactile and sensory approach. Each irregularity testifies to a direct dialogue with the earth. The artist favors instinct to translate an inner reconstruction. The minimalism of the composition invites reflection on human identity and perception.
The whole rests on a transparent and discreet base. This piece combines sobriety and physical presence. The grainy texture of the terracotta emphasizes the organic aspect of the structure.
Presentation
My sculptural work stems from a radical transformation of my perception of the world and my inner reconstruction.
Having become completely blind at the age of twenty-five following a road traffic accident, I had to let go of my visual perception and shift it towards a tactile experience.
Through touch, the material has become a space for direct, physical and sensual dialogue. Clay, through its texture, consistency and grain, guides my hands towards an intuitive, instinctive and deeply emotional creative process. It is no longer merely a material: it is a living presence, a creative partner, a necessity.
My creations do not merely represent forms; they tell a story and explore our relationship with the body, identity and perception.
My intention is to convey a universal message, inviting us to look beyond appearances to gain a deeper understanding of the human condition.
