Description
This sculpture explores the concept of vulnerability through a fragmented human silhouette. The torso—devoid of head and arms—serves as a vehicle for reflecting on impermanence. Intricate drapery appears frozen upon the body, creating an interplay of organic, tormented folds.
The treatment of materials lends tactile depth to the piece. The use of resin, blended with oil and acrylic, gives the surface a dark, metallic quality. This understated finish accentuates the precision of the forms while capturing light in a diffused manner.
A touch of vivid red breaks the chromatic neutrality. This precise detail draws the eye and punctuates the composition with a distinctive note. The balance between void and mass reflects a conceptual inquiry into the fragility of existence.
The work blends abstraction with the depiction of the nude to question the nature of physical presence. Every curve and apparent fissure bears witness to precise technical mastery. The piece presents itself as an anatomical study reimagined through a contemporary lens. Created in 2026, this work stands out for its solemn air and mineral-like appearance.
Presentation
The world passes through its stage as every being.
It all began with tearing, then isolation, and finally sweetness to allow my imagination free rein until my own fragility and that of the world around us appear.
My technique is rather original, it appeared to me, before, during and after having experienced this sensitivity that is fragility.
