Biography
Alireza Shojaian is an Iranian artist, born in 1988 in Tehran. He studied at IAU Art and Architecture University in Tehran, and obtained his masters in Fine arts. He now spends time between Tehran and Beirut.
Alireza Shojaian tries to update those things which the society tries to hide. He paints nostalgic faces, nude or lightly dressed bodies. His paintings are often geometric like a hexagon and highlight subject. The faces sometimes have a tense look, as if they were suffering. The spectator becomes part of the characters' intimacy, without much information. He is confronted to a state of suffering or embarrassment, but doesn't know why. The spectator is free to analyze as he pleases.
