    Original size

Tathagata - a Pali or Sanscrit word used primarily by Siddartha Gautama Buddha to refer to himself. However it also the term for one who has reached enlightenment through Buddhist principles & has as many as eight different meanings. Generally accepted is the translation one who has thus arrived.

And this vivid painting from Berlin has arrived! Drawing on his knowledge of the faith & his research into the theme this is a beautiful & informed rendition of Buddha. The colours are vibrant but enable one to look deep and take the essence of tranquility from the image. This Buddha would sit happily on an altar or a home corner of peace and tranquility, giving an essence of calm & preparedness to those who stand before it.

Sax Berlin

Sax Berlin

United Kingdom

Sax Berlin, arguably the finest exponent of 21st Century Classicism, has devoted his life to absorbing the culture of art and architecture in Europe, Asia and North America. Thus becoming a genius of our time and the great secret of modern art. His contemporaries and collectors call him "The Master". When one reviews his oeuvre 8 distinct and separate styles emerge, displaying Sax Berlin’s mastery of his subject; only Picasso has shown this level of genius. Quote from Sax: "It's a great honour to be compared to Picasso; after all he is my spiritual father and teaches me in my dreams". Berlin is a unique artist, using techniques mastered during his studies; ranging from antiquity through the medieval and Renaissance to the present; he creates the visual outcomes he wants and that delight collectors. The pieces Berlin has created in his New York, Greek and Cornish studios are of museum quality and are rarely seen in Art Sales offering a combination of beautiful artworks and investment opportunities. Harvard University refer to him as a Master Artist. The President of the Asia Society on Park Avenue, NYC wrote to Berlin that "your work is beautiful" and Bernard Faure, Professor of Asia Studies at Columbia University wrote "your icons really do have a life of their own". Sax Berlin is a modern Master Painter in the truest sense of the term and follows in the footsteps of the Great Masters of the past.
