Portrait from the metro ticket series

Luc is a métropolitain (the Parisian metro) user.
For him, the metro is a metaphor for life: a group of people find themselves in the same place and for a certain time by accident.
In this series of portraits of metro riders, the artist tries to depict this human community, an epitome of our planet.
These paintings are made during his daily rides, live, in the metro, on used tickets.
The artist uses the tickets as a support in order to suggest the time and the place of the work.

Original ticket – oil on metro ticket (unframed – framing on demand, depending on orders) OR numbered prints, large format.
From his series on original metro tickets (3x6cm), painted in oil during his rides, Luc Grateau also proposes us to admire his works in a format that gives texture and relief to his miniatures. The prints are made on FineArt Ultrasmooth paper, 300 dpi print resolution, with an ink that has a 100-year warranty and glued on 2mm Dibond, with wodden chassis for hanging. Prints limited to one print per format (26x12 cm, 60x29cm, 120x57cm).
