Sylvie Pulur

Born in 1958, French of Armenian origin, Sylvie PULUR grew up in Marseille. After studying accounting in Paris, she rediscovered her passion for drawing and painting six years ago, after raising four children. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art. A self-taught artist, she uses various techniques such as charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic for her creations on canvas and paper. Her work is distinguished by a subtle play of color contrasts and emotions, inviting meditation and reverie. Her works are unique and imaginary, marked by significant periods of her life.

Sylvie PULUR's works reflect key moments in her life. The series "Les Marines" evokes her arrival in France by boat, with about twenty oil and acrylic paintings influenced by Ivan Aivazovsky's seascapes. Passionate about the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, [he/she] also produced numerous sketches representing women of various origins, inspired by black and white photographs and the works of Tamara de Lempicka and Edward Hopper.
