Description
This sandstone sculpture captures the essence of quiet contemplation. It depicts a seated woman with her legs crossed, her head resting on her hand. The detailed curls of her hair add a rich texture that stands out against the smooth background of her body. The face, serene and pensive, expresses a range of subtle emotions, evoking the depth of inner reflection. The position of the arms and legs draws a graceful and harmonious line, emphasizing the naturalness of the moment captured by the artist. From clay, I imagine, I shape my creation: "the woman". During this particular exchange a dialogue is established between the earth and me, a form will come to life which will find its expression through my hands.
Régis, for his part, will ensure its durability through very gradual cooking that will protect the integrity of the clay. A patina will give it a light make-up, like a woman would make herself beautiful.
This is how our sandstone and bronze sculptures are made by four hands.
