Description
This clay sculpture from Bollène, with a patina fired at 1240°C, embodies a seated human figure, conveying an impression of profound reflection. The artist skillfully plays with contrasting textures, juxtaposing a smooth surface on the body with a rough texture on the back. The figure's introspective pose amplifies its meditative character. The earthy hues bring warmth and authenticity, reinforcing the work's natural aspect. This interplay of texture and color engages the viewer, inviting them to explore the inner states of the human soul. Four-handed sculptures
From clay, I imagine, I shape my creation: "the woman". During this particular exchange a dialogue is established between the earth and me, a form will come to life which will find its expression through my hands.
Régis, for his part, will ensure its durability through very gradual cooking that will protect the integrity of the clay. A patina will give it a light make-up, like a woman would make herself beautiful.
This is how our sandstone and bronze sculptures are made by four hands.
