Description
This bold and colorful work captures the spirit of surrealism with an explosion of shapes and colors. Against a vibrant blue background, a central figure in red with flowing contours immediately catches the eye. Organic and abstract patterns in pink and green adorn the main character, evoking the idea of a creature in transformation. Around this silhouette, small, floating, almost anatomical shapes add a dynamic, dreamlike dimension. The elements appear weightless, reinforcing the impression of movement and interaction. Black lines define the contours, adding a graphic intensity that contrasts with the bold colors. The whole exudes a vibrant energy, raising questions about identity and evolution. This unique composition appeals to the viewer's imagination and invites them to explore a universe where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur.
Presentation
Brigitte Derbigny is a contemporary painter, draftsman, and printmaker based in France. Her artistic talent has gained national and international recognition, with exhibitions in Spain, Canada, and Brazil.
Brigitte Derbigny's creative process is an introspective journey, a journey from the inside out, taking place in the margins of her mind. It begins with spontaneous bursts of inspiration, manifesting as quick sketches made with pencil, marker, ballpoint pen, or ink—whatever tools are at hand. These sketches constitute the genesis of her artistic exploration, transporting her beyond the boundaries of time and space, from the realms of yesterday to the landscapes of today.
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Lille, Derbigny currently resides and works in Burgundy, where she continues to explore the depths of her artistic vision, inviting the viewer to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery through her evocative creations.
