Long Shadwos, 2016

Sergey Pietilä

Dynamic energy defines this composition. Bold strokes of charcoal collide with vivid pastel hues. A deep blue nocturnal atmosphere envelops the scene. The artist captures a sense of movement through sweeping, rhythmic lines. These gestures suggest wind rushing through dense foliage.
Contrast drives the visual impact. Bright yellow light slices across the foreground. It creates sharp shadows that ground the floating forms. The interplay between light and dark evokes a mysterious, electric mood.
Central figures emerge from the gloom. They stand as silent sentinels amidst the swirling greenery. The technique remains raw and spontaneous. Every mark feels urgent. This artwork balances chaotic motion with a structured spatial depth. The gaze is drawn from the luminous grass toward the swirling sky. A singular white glow pierces the upper left corner. It adds a celestial quality to the landscape. The piece concludes with a precise signature in the lower right corner.
