Autumn, 2022

Sergey Pietilä

A vibrant energy radiates from this 2022 composition. The artist captures the fleeting essence of a seasonal transition. Bold strokes of golden yellow dominate the upper canopy. These bright tones clash beautifully against a moody, slate-blue background. The technique emphasizes movement and light.
Vertical white lines create a rhythmic forest of birch trees. Their pale trunks anchor the scene with a ghostly precision. The ground is a tapestry of ochre and amber. Each mark feels spontaneous yet controlled.
The atmosphere is thick with the scent of damp earth and crisp air. This artwork avoids literal representation to evoke a sensory memory. It explores the tension between the fading warmth of summer and the approach of winter. The composition balances chaotic foliage with a structured woodland depth. Light filters through the branches in fragmented shards. This creates a shimmering effect across the canvas. The piece concludes with a focus on the textured interplay of pigment and surface.
