Description

The new Cardiology series are the expression of the quest to transcend the permanent state of sadness & shock in the pursuit of unconditional love & happiness.
The series are mostly in Red & Blue as the dominant colours as the main coronary colours with a third major colour being white.
Following a series of smaller studies on paper, also in red & blue ,This artwork is the first in a series of large scale Cardiac works.
Made with mixed acrylics, Oil bars, mediums, pigments, inks, graphite and other media.
The Cardiac heart stands tall yet withdrawn within a central citadel of the cosmos, with forests, waterfalls and volcanic lava, connected to the source power of the universe or God, yet disconnected from the outside mundane world surrounding it.
Conjuring Love from “Cardiology Domine"- The lord of Cardiology / The God of the greatest power in the universe = Love.
Cardiology takes centre-stage with the power to conjure Magic.
An interstellar travel into the heart, and its' intricate, volcanic supernovas and abyss.
After creating this work,  Taline felt she had to listen to the Pink Floyd album Astronomy Domine / Domine in Latin meaning the lord. Whilst trying to understand the painting with other sensory mediums like music. And only Astronomy Domine fit the bill!
The opening morse code like beats and the overall Time signature was hitting the exact note this work was about. It is cosmic, ethereal yet so tangible and raw. Just like the heart.
Cardiology domine with almost a religious essence. It combines the very earthly bloody and intense anatomical make up with the occult, the magical and one that has the secret of the planets.
Cardiology domine is a raw yet rarefied attempt of capturing the unseen but felt gravity of Love with its' messiness, darkness and sensual beauty. Cardiology Domine borrows music, poetry, pigments and all possible energies to forge a highly crafted masterpiece. In essence, it is a secret homage to Syd Barret and his musical genius – merged within Pink Floyd's legendary debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.
Her years in London, and how she feels about the culture, subculture and history of this place in specific and England / including Cambridge and other parts of the country and the kind of art, music and culture I associate with it play a very big role in her artistic journey.  She lived in this place so crowded with such historic ghosts , even her understanding, perception  and experience of Post-War Europe and the rest of the world has shifted significantly in the past 23 years including my art school years. And that impacted the way she sees the world!
