Description
This artwork is a masterful display of abstract expressionism, characterized by its vivid and dynamic use of color and texture. Dominated by bold strokes of purples, yellows, and hints of greens, the painting exudes a sense of movement and energy. The juxtaposition of warm and cool tones creates a vibrant contrast that captures the viewer's attention and evokes a range of emotions, from intrigue to contemplation. The rich texture of the brushstrokes is a testament to the artist's skill and emotional investment in the piece. Each stroke appears deliberate yet spontaneous, contributing to an overall sense of fluidity and depth. The areas of dense coloration seamlessly blend into softer, more muted patches, suggesting a landscape or a moment in nature viewed through an abstract lens. What sets this artwork apart is its ability to balance chaos and harmony. Despite the seemingly erratic brushstrokes, there is a coherent composition that guides the viewer's eye across the canvas. The interplay between light and dark sections adds a dynamic quality, allowing the painting to change its narrative depending on the viewer's perspective. This piece is not merely a visual experience but a sensory one, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its vibrant world and explore the emotions it stirs. Its abstract nature ensures that each individual can interpret it in their unique way, making it a timeless and universally appealing work of art.
Presentation
Doïna Vieru is an Ecuadorian-Moldavian artist born in 1978 who lives & works in France, Paris. She always preferred pas/pas/passionately the image to the word and all this despite crises of Bartlébysme. Between "I would prefer not to", pencils, papers, pvc or metal and other sharp instruments, the game remains his eternal favorite. After studying at the Chisinau Art Academy in Moldavia and Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris, France, she left Europe for Ecuador where she developed her own artistic language between mountains and jungle. Her return to 2019 in Paris is marked by an event-hanging at the Nesle gallery where she presented drawings on the three levels of the gallery. Her work, which has been exhibited regularly in Ecuador, Mexico, France, Romania and Moldova, still deals with the inexpressible. It's a kind of hide-and-seek game, to say and shut up.
Her production is serial: she paints on herself, on her pregnancies, to the rhythm of Tchaikovsky's Opus 35 or in the melanomaniac search for black. In the last series of drawings it is a question of hiding and destroying poetry by freely playing on large photographic paper with layers-history - palimpsests - superimposed where unintelligible writing mixes with charcoal, ink, with white acrylics and black stone. It is the rewriting of the disaster, a direct reference to the work of Maurice Blanchot: "When all is said, what remains to be said is the disaster, ruin of speech, failure in writing, rumor that murmurs: this which remains without remainder."
