Description
This painting is executed in an Impressionist manner, using impasto technique and a soft, blurred color palette. At the center of the composition is a boat nestled against the bank among the thickets. In the background, trees can be seen dissolving in a light haze.
The main accent is the sun (or the moon), which shines through the mist and is reflected in the water in bright orange-pink strokes. This reflection creates an interesting contrast with the predominant cool shades of white, gray and pale blue.
Small silhouettes of birds can also be seen on the water, bringing the scene to life. The painting conveys a sense of quiet and calm; perhaps it is a morning or evening landscape filled with soft light and a contemplative mood.
