Description
This artwork presents a mesmerizing fusion of abstract and figurative elements, rendered in stark black and white. The composition is a swirling tapestry of intricate lines and curves, each interwoven with dynamic shapes that suggest faces, eyes, and organic forms. At the center, a single, bold circular form creates a focal point, guiding the viewer's gaze through the complexity. The piece is alive with movement, depicting a chaotic yet harmonious dance of figures and motifs. The artist's signature and date are inscribed at the bottom, adding a personal touch to this enigmatic creation. The use of monochrome amplifies the artwork's depth and intensity, highlighting the skillful interplay between positive and negative space. This piece challenges the viewer to delve into its layers, offering a rich, immersive experience that blurs the line between abstraction and reality.
Presentation
Saba Dolikashvili is a Georgian artist born in 2003 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 2025. His work is rooted in symbolic narrative painting. His art is founded on a black-and-white background aesthetic, which serves not merely as a formal choice, but as a powerful instrument for expressing the polar aspects of human nature — good and evil, light and darkness, joy and sorrow. However, Dolikashvili's works are not limited to monochromaticity. Color in his painting is functional — it serves as a means of conveying emotional and narrative balance and enriches the composition with distinctive layers. Dolikashvili creates a personal, symbolism-laden world where archetypal figures — for example, the angel as alter ego and rain as a symbol of memory and melancholy — develop with multiple meanings. His art is closely connected to the context of contemporary art, yet maintains an individual concept and depth.
