Description
This striking artwork features a stylized fox rendered in vivid orange tones, capturing attention with its elegance and whimsical form. Curled gracefully, the fox's posture suggests both vigilance and repose, while the sharp lines and curves of its body add a dynamic quality. The background contrasts starkly; the left side is white with a cascade of black teardrops, symbolizing light and delicacy, while the right side is a deep black adorned with white droplets, suggesting mystery and depth. The vibrant red and pink elements beneath the fox mimic flames, infusing the piece with energy and movement. This juxtaposition of light and dark, calm and energy, creates a compelling visual narrative. The artwork's abstract nature invites various interpretations, evoking themes of transformation and duality, making it a captivating study in contrasts.
Presentation
Saba Dolikashvili is a Georgian artist born in 2003 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 2025. His work is rooted in symbolic narrative painting. His art is founded on a black-and-white background aesthetic, which serves not merely as a formal choice, but as a powerful instrument for expressing the polar aspects of human nature — good and evil, light and darkness, joy and sorrow. However, Dolikashvili's works are not limited to monochromaticity. Color in his painting is functional — it serves as a means of conveying emotional and narrative balance and enriches the composition with distinctive layers. Dolikashvili creates a personal, symbolism-laden world where archetypal figures — for example, the angel as alter ego and rain as a symbol of memory and melancholy — develop with multiple meanings. His art is closely connected to the context of contemporary art, yet maintains an individual concept and depth.
