Description
This mesmerizing artwork is a vibrant tapestry of surreal imagery, dominated by the imposing figure of an owl, centrally placed with piercing eyes that command attention. The owl's plumage is stylized with a swirling pattern that seems to fuse with its multicolored surroundings. Rich blues and turbulent waves at the bottom suggest an elemental force, while jagged, fiery reds at the top hint at chaos or transformation. Intricate, abstract forms intertwine throughout the canvas, resembling a menagerie of fantastical creatures and faces. The use of bold, contrasting colors and dynamic lines creates an intense sense of movement and energy. A hidden complexity invites viewers to explore deeper meanings behind the juxtaposition of natural and mythical themes. This artwork stands out for its ability to engage the viewer's imagination, blurring the line between reality and fantasy with audacious creativity.
Presentation
Saba Dolikashvili is a Georgian artist born in 2003 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 2025. His work is rooted in symbolic narrative painting. His art is founded on a black-and-white background aesthetic, which serves not merely as a formal choice, but as a powerful instrument for expressing the polar aspects of human nature — good and evil, light and darkness, joy and sorrow. However, Dolikashvili's works are not limited to monochromaticity. Color in his painting is functional — it serves as a means of conveying emotional and narrative balance and enriches the composition with distinctive layers. Dolikashvili creates a personal, symbolism-laden world where archetypal figures — for example, the angel as alter ego and rain as a symbol of memory and melancholy — develop with multiple meanings. His art is closely connected to the context of contemporary art, yet maintains an individual concept and depth.
