Description
Fugitive Odyssey 2 is part of the artist's Marine Reveries series. It is inspired by the landscapes of the Atlantic coast and the Arcachon Bay, where he has always lived. There, the landscapes always oscillate between blue and gray, the light is soft and changing. The horizon line is often blurred, and the clouds and the sun seem to float above the water. As if levitating. And in the evening, tawny and gold colors set the horizon ablaze, water and sky merging together.
To accentuate the poetry and impressionist aspect, he worked the motif with a knife, sketching the shapes and playing with the colors and materials, trying to capture through his palette all the serenity, calm and energy of these landscapes that enchant him and nourish him. Just by looking at them, our thoughts escape and we go on a journey with the clouds, the waves and the changing light of the hours.
Presentation
The artist has always lived at the edge of the water, on the Atlantic coast, as close as possible to these seascapes that he loves passionately and of which he strives, canvas after canvas, as a sensitive and privileged witness, to restore light, poetry and serenity.
Colorist, he works his semi-abstract seascapes with oil, brush and knife, playing on the contrast between the motif worked in full paste and the soft background, thus offering each of his works a very dynamic contemporary.
Favoring the impression, the atmosphere and the atmosphere, it gives free rein to the imagination of those who contemplate them.
His paintings are an ode to travel, dreams and escape.
