Description
This oil painting explores the boundary between the figurative and the abstract. The gaze dives into a vertical landscape where matter asserts itself. The knife work creates a marked relief. Thick whites contrast with the depth of the blues.
The artist favors atmosphere and feeling. The sky and water seem to merge in an upward movement. Light passes through the canvas in precise touches. A rocky fault or a steep coastline is discernible.
The gesture is dynamic. The paint is applied in paste to give body to the scene. This technical approach brings a tactile dimension to the surface. Blue dominates the palette, punctuated by earthy and ochre tones.
The whole evokes the escape and serenity of the great maritime spaces. The composition guides the observation from bottom to top. It leaves room for the viewer's interpretation. This painting was created in 2026.
Presentation
The artist has always lived at the edge of the water, on the Atlantic coast, as close as possible to these seascapes that he loves passionately and of which he strives, canvas after canvas, as a sensitive and privileged witness, to restore light, poetry and serenity.
Colorist, he works his semi-abstract seascapes with oil, brush and knife, playing on the contrast between the motif worked in full paste and the soft background, thus offering each of his works a very dynamic contemporary.
Favoring the impression, the atmosphere and the atmosphere, it gives free rein to the imagination of those who contemplate them.
His paintings are an ode to travel, dreams and escape.
