Description
This oil composition is captivating by its play of verticals. The brush and the knife sculpt the material in thick layers. Orange tones contrast with shades of blue and gray.
The gesture is free. It evokes the light and serenity of marine landscapes. The artist favors impression over figuration. The contrasts between saturated areas and lighter backgrounds bring a contemporary dynamism.
The eye travels between the drips and the impasto. Each stroke invites escape and dreams. The atmosphere suggests a blurred horizon, a meeting between the sky and the water.
The color work structures the space intuitively. The touches of white bring a natural clarity. This abstract painting, created in 2021, is distinguished by its rich texture and its fluid chromatic transitions.
Presentation
The artist has always lived at the edge of the water, on the Atlantic coast, as close as possible to these seascapes that he loves passionately and of which he strives, canvas after canvas, as a sensitive and privileged witness, to restore light, poetry and serenity.
Colorist, he works his semi-abstract seascapes with oil, brush and knife, playing on the contrast between the motif worked in full paste and the soft background, thus offering each of his works a very dynamic contemporary.
Favoring the impression, the atmosphere and the atmosphere, it gives free rein to the imagination of those who contemplate them.
His paintings are an ode to travel, dreams and escape.
