Description

This artwork showcases a symmetrical fusion of geometric abstraction, using a vivid palette of colors to create dynamic visual tension. Divided into two juxtaposed panels, each side features a series of overlapping triangles and diamond shapes, meticulously arranged to form intricate, kaleidoscopic patterns. The left piece is dominated by warm hues—reds, yellows, and pinks—creating an energetic, fiery spectacle, while the right panel utilizes cooler tones like blues and grays, interspersed with bold reds and yellows, establishing a balanced harmony. The interplay of light and shadow, achieved through precise shading and contrasting tones, enhances the three-dimensional effect, drawing the viewer into a complex labyrinth of form and color. This artwork distinguishes itself by merging mathematical precision with expressive color, inviting viewers to explore the boundaries between order and chaos in visual art.

The movement of optics silhouetted and contoured by straight lines and bare flat tints in their formless purity, for me embodies the Divine grace and luminous energy that the soul of a seeker acquires in this process of self gathering and spiritual realisation or discovery, a 'journey within' that accompanies this abstract creation of visual and rhythmic poetry reverberating and vibrating in directions to and from the center. Samadhi is a state of meditative absorption into a state of loss of separateness from its Ultimate essence and reality.

Presentation

Neerja Chandna Peters, a physician residing in New Delhi, has been practicing abstract art for fifteen years. Her unique take on geometric abstraction has been the subject of research and cited in peer-reviewed journals. She has held four solo exhibitions, including one at the New England Regional Art Museum, Armidale, Australia; two in Portland, Oregon, USA; and at Bikaner House, New Delhi. She has received awards and been selected for international biennials, exhibitions, and museum projects, and her work is included in public and private collections, including those of museums.
