Description

This captivating work features a reclining nude body bathed in intense blue tones, creating a striking contrast with the touches of pure white. The subtly applied light glides across the skin, accentuating the subject's delicate curves. The abstract background, with its shades of blue and ochre, lends a mysterious depth to the scene. The bold strokes and expressive brushstrokes demonstrate remarkable technical mastery, evoking both vulnerability and strength, eroticism and fantasy. This composition skillfully fuses realism and abstraction, inviting the viewer to explore the emotions and stories hidden behind each shadow and reflection. The artist succeeds in capturing not only the human form but also a sense of escape and contemplation.

Presentation

Initially an actor and videographer for the theatre, Samuel, now sam·e, develops a queer practice of sculpture and painting that deconstructs heroic virility and politically questions the body and its representations.

Her work questions the body as a political and plastic space: how norms shape our emotions and identities.

By weakening and queering the codes of the heroic body, they compose desired and desiring presences that invite new forms of resistance.
