Description
The Lady with the Gecko (Ilda be) was painted at the same time as Mona Ilda. The painting is the same format and uses the same technique, glazed oil. The position of the elegant beauty is that seen in many Renaissance paintings. A woman in front of a window with a landscape in the distance, except here that the model sports a striking afro and the ocean is in the tropics. A tree fern radiates from the right side. On the windowsill, an impossible astrolabe, much like the objects of MC Escher, is displayed. A giant gecko comes to visit the young woman.
Presentation
Born in 1952, FranSoisT paints and photographs. François Thiéry-Mourelet (for the civil status) signs his paintings "Fransoist" or "FsT". His works combine elegant women, powerful nature, dreams (or nightmares), cats, horses and gentle monsters. If the technique is classical (use of sfumato, verdaccio and glazing), the compositions are complex. The brushstroke, quick and oblique, superimposes natural or burnt earths (ochres, greens, browns, reds...) and blues. He also has a work as a watercolorist, illustrator of children's books and photographer. Since 1984, he has exhibited in Modena, Geneva, Cleveland, Thonon-les-Bains, Paray-le-Monial, Cachan, Saint-Ouen, Arcueil, Barbizon, Paris...
