The Oil painting on Cardboard titled “City tram slides along the tracks" offers a tender glimpse into the fleeting harmony between urban life, natural beauty, and the intimate presence of human connection. The composition immediately captures attention with the bold appearance of a red tram advancing along its glistening tracks, cutting through the center of the canvas. The tram, radiant against the muted tones of the wet street, becomes both a symbol of movement and a backdrop for the gentle human stories that unfold within this cityscape. The setting is urban yet softened by nature. On the right side of the canvas, lush green trees spread their branches across the scene, partially veiling the overcast sky and providing a shelter-like atmosphere. Their foliage, rendered with vigorous strokes of green, ochre, and touches of turquoise, contrasts sharply with the geometric lines of the buildings on the left. The architecture, with its pointed spires, ornate facades, and glowing windows, evokes an old European charm. The artist has painted these structures in subdued violets, grays, and creams, which heighten the prominence of the tram and the warmth of the street lights reflecting off rain-soaked cobblestones. The wet pavement is a masterpiece of color and texture. It mirrors both the glowing yellow windows of the buildings and the red brilliance of the tram, transforming the ground into a shimmering canvas of purples, golds, and crimson. This reflective quality adds depth, giving the impression of a world doubled—one above and one below—where every figure, light, and leaf exists in parallel. The street is not static; it seems alive with movement, from the soft ripple of puddles disturbed by footsteps to the scattered autumn leaves caught in the glistening surface. The use of color underscores the duality of the painting—movement versus stillness, public life versus private moments. The red tram symbolizes vibrancy and progress, but the greens of the trees and the violet tones of the reflections convey calm and introspection. Together, they create a balance that reflects the complexity of urban experience. The lampposts, glowing faintly along the wet path, further emphasize this theme, suggesting a guiding light that illuminates not just the streets but also the lives unfolding quietly within them.
