Description
A faithful copy of Joos Van Cleve's "Vanna Nuda," using Renaissance painting techniques: verdaccio, pigments consistent with the period, successive glazes, dammar varnish... Housed in the National Gallery in Prague, the original depicts a young woman posing in the style of the Mona Lisa. Joos Van Cleve almost certainly used Leonardo da Vinci's tracings, as has recently been demonstrated. The original, painted on a wooden panel, is slightly larger than this copy. Out of respect for Van Cleve's work, FranSoisT chose not to use the title and instead titled his canvas "The Foragers." Note the delicate jewelry, the folds of the fabric, the precision of the fur... and the enigmatic, subtle smile. On the back are the date, signature, and the artist's stamp.
Presentation
Born in 1952, FranSoisT paints and photographs. François Thiéry-Mourelet (for the civil status) signs his paintings "Fransoist" or "FsT". His works combine elegant women, powerful nature, dreams (or nightmares), cats, horses and gentle monsters. If the technique is classical (use of sfumato, verdaccio and glazing), the compositions are complex. The brushstroke, quick and oblique, superimposes natural or burnt earths (ochres, greens, browns, reds...) and blues. He also has a work as a watercolorist, illustrator of children's books and photographer. Since 1984, he has exhibited in Modena, Geneva, Cleveland, Thonon-les-Bains, Paray-le-Monial, Cachan, Saint-Ouen, Arcueil, Barbizon, Paris...
