Description
Pedro Guerrero contemporary abstract painting mixed technique on paper: archetypal tension in motion
From the first visual encounter, the work asserts itself as a field of forces in constant friction. Color does not decorate: it pushes, resists, and advances. In Serpiente y el jaguar, Pedro Guerrero constructs an experience where gesture dominates space and rhythm is felt before it is understood. This Pedro Guerrero contemporary abstract painting mixed technique on canvas activates a sustained sensory reading, characteristic of gestural contemporary painting, where material, stroke, and visual energy become language. The work does not seek to narrate; it seeks to remain.
Mixed technique on paper: enveloping rhythm
The surface unfolds like a territory in continuous motion. Deep blues, dense blacks, and yellow accents overlap through fragmented gestural marks that generate tension and cadence. The mixed technique on canvas allows torn layers, splashes, and dragged textures that reinforce the sensation of an internal journey. Contemporary abstract painting here is not chaotic: it sustains a visual pulse that surrounds, activates, and accompanies the gaze, characteristic of gestural art and materially charged painting.
Contemporary abstraction: force and resistance
The differential concept is articulated through a clear idea: the dialogue between opposing forces that coexist without canceling each other out. The dominant curve suggests advance, transformation, and friction, while the fragmented background introduces resistance and density. This contemporary abstraction connects with a recognizable human experience: moving forward without certainty, sustaining tension. The work does not fully resolve itself; it stays, remains active, accompanying the space with a constant emotional presence, characteristic of expressive abstract painting.
Pedro Guerrero mixed technique: gestural signature
Pedro Guerrero's pictorial signature is recognized through decisive stroke, exposed materiality, and the absence of unnecessary ornament. The work subtly dialogues with the visual energy of Jackson Pollock, in its use of gesture as structure and color as a field of action. Guerrero develops a pictorial practice centered on painting as an experience in itself, without the intention of going beyond what is visible. Executed in mixed technique on paper, measuring 60 x 40 cm and dated 2023, this original artwork, unique piece, and signed work condenses a solid and trustworthy presence within the language of contemporary painting.
Presentation
