Description
This artwork presents a mesmerizing abstract composition, dominated by a central circular motif. The piece is meticulously crafted with a rich palette of deep blues and grays, accentuated by striking splashes of gold leaf. The circular form is not perfectly uniform, lending an organic feel that draws the viewer's eye inward. The texture is complex, with layers of paint applied in a manner that evokes the rugged surface of a celestial body. The use of gold introduces a sense of warmth and opulence, contrasting elegantly with the cooler tones. The artwork invites contemplation, as each glance reveals new details and depths. The interplay of color and texture creates a sense of movement and dynamism, making the piece both grounding and ethereal. This work stands out for its bold yet harmonious integration of elemental forms and colors.
Presentation
"Every painting I begin, the layers and texture continue to fascinate me as does the process. My subject matter remains the same, the material itself, the coast, the sea, lines of desire that criss-cross the landscape, time and its corrosive effect on materials and finding the beauty in what we see around us. The world filters into my studio, colour, light, politics, religion, people. Conversations remain with me, maps mesmerize me, travel enthuses me. Creating and painting is an imperative I couldn't live a day without.“
